Tens of thousands of NBA2king developers chose not get a license from the Chinese government. Instead, it is apparent that the developers knowingly allowed Apple keep their games from the view of Chinese gamers. Reuters says that only 74 of 1,500 most popular games were granted the China license this is less than the 5% of compliance.
The developers weren’t the only ones who decided not to obtain a license also. Certain games were removed from the Apple app store, by major developers like Take-Two or Ubisoft. If you’re in China, NBA 2k or Assassin’s Creed Identity cannot be downloaded via the app store of Apple. Prior to the December 31 app purge, another 94,000 had been removed from the store’s app store, bringing the total losses for 2020 to 140,000 apps.
The gaming revenue of Apple’s Chinese operations amounted to $13 billion between January 2020 and November 2020. This is an increase by 14% over revenue of the year. The app store purge will likely be significant to the revenue of Apple in 2019. It’s not yet clear whether or not developers will get a license to allow their games to be brought back into the Chinese market.
NBA 2K’s playoffs simulation moves on to the second round.Fans have had to adapt to the reality that sporting leagues are non-existent. Racing events have been moved to esports and player tournaments have provided some excitement, in addition to live events such as the WNBA and NFL draft.
2K is taking advantage of breaks to make a simulation of the playoffs for fans of basketball. We don’t know if the NBA will be able to Buy 2K MT PS4 finish this season with actual games. So, between The Last Dance and now this is as close as we will see real action.
